Default Jan Tschichold issue of IDEA

The Japanese typography magazine IDEA has dedicated its current issue to Jan Tschichold. The editions are generally lovely, and based on the low-res images at the site, this is no exception.

For those of us far from Japan, the price is pretty high (it comes to close to $60 U.S. with postage, which is more than half the cost). They accept VISA and MasterCard in any currency.

The thumbnails look great, with articles in English and Japanese. Fortunately, there are many pictures.

I cannot resist anything about Tschichold, one of the most penetrating writers on type in modern times. This book seems to cover his life, from his radical period through to the end, with many illustrations.

Take a look, anyway.
