Default E-mail obfuscation again

This U.C. Berkeley web site offers a good overview of methods of cloaking or obscuring e-mail addresses, with pros and cons offered for each one.

The methods include:
  • returning addresses through JavaScript
  • e-mail via contact forms
  • obscuring addresses (several techniques)
  • requiring authentication to view private pages
  • redirecting harvesting tools
We have had quite a few discussions of these approaches (including this long thread “Obfuscating e-mail addresses”) but this provides a concise summary with useful links, so figured it was a good time to mention it again.
