Default Watch out — phone scam

We have been being pestered by phone calls from a place called Financial Education. (Our caller ID shows Financial Edu 727-260-5510.)

When I answered, a woman said she wanted to “advise” me about my Visa and MasterCard accounts. I said I didn’t have any, and the caller excused herself and hung up. Another time I said I was on the do-not-call list and didn’t need any advice and hung up. Sure hope they give up on me.

I looked the outfit up on the web and found many cranky discussions about these people going back to March or so. (We have just begun to get the calls.)

Seems similar to other calls featuring a woman who identifies herself and then says she is calling about my credit card account. Then she says not to worry, there is nothing wrong, but that she can save me a lot of money if I switch to her card. These have gone on in waves for years.

Phooey on all of ’em.
