Default Microsoft Publisher file

Someone has sent me a Microsoft Publisher file. Since I do not have MS Publisher, I don't see the point of sending this to me. She will give me the equivalent on paper tonight. Not a whole lot better, if I want it in digital form.

Anyway, is there a way to convert a .PUB file to something else, like MS Word, or even text, without having the application?
