Default Camera Problem

I have a Canon PowerShot S90, which is a very nice camera. However, the lens seems to have gotten out of kilter. It's extended, and now whenever I try to turn on the camera it says "Lens error, restart camera", and turns off. The lens won't retract. I've tried to gently push it back, but it won't work. Any ideas?
