Default Quark 7 "raves"

Well, to the relief of desktop publishers everywhere, the long wait is over and Quark 7 is out.

Here are comments from Version Tracker:
---
"I can't believe they are trying to keep this thing alive. Give up Quark. InDesign has taken over. No point trying to catch-up."

"quark (the company) has been a lame duck for several years. we were ignored when we pointed out issues (temp files, screen redraws, etc.). now they release version 7."

"too little...too late...bye bye quarkxpress...every one of our clients ceased investment in all things quark when indesign 4 (cs2) came out."

"While I'm happy that Quark continues to chase Adobe's tail, QuarkXPress version 7.0 has little to recommend over InDesign CS2. When the Harvard Business School invites me to address its graduating class on the subject of why businesses succeed and then fail, Quark will make one helluva of a case study."

"Quark, you lost it. Give it up. It's over. Even the diehards are crossing over to InDesign in droves. I know personally that Random House switched over their entire global operation this past year, as most publishing companies have (your singular industry holdouts.) You have lost all credibility by resting on your laurels and expecting people to dish out more for bloat and instability. Your laziness and arrogance cost you dearly. It's a tale old as time....good riddance, Quark Express."

"When is Quark going to throw in the towel. It used to be that they were the industry standard and now their trying to charge $900 for a sad InDesign ripoff."

"I'm sure Adobe is falling out of their chairs with laughter by now. I wouldn't be surprised if this company isn't around in 2 years.

"Good riddance."

---

How true. How richly deserved. How sad.
