"You cannot advertise your business on the forum. If you offer a product or service related to the publishing industry, you may post a short press notice, without prices or sales pitches. The announcement should provide contact information so interested forum members can contact you if they are interested in what you have to offer."
I am not on the forum staff, but the above is an exact quote from the forum information page. Last edited by dthomsen8; 11-13-2006 at 05:09 AM. Reason: Addition |

Perhaps we should have a section which says - sell your products here - It might spice up the site with the right product:-)

I'd rather have the pages so snap-snap-snap and replace each other, than waste computer power and time watching pretty pictures of the pages "turning" on the computer.
Sorry, but that's just one man's opinion. Very pretty but not something I'd want to see or use. |

@groucho : You can just clickturn... dragturn is just an option to give the true magazine feeling....
By the way, there is a new release of the product online now. |

A true magazine feeling? Sorry, but animated pictures of magazine pages isn't "feeling" at all to me. Maybe I'm missing it, but to me a PDF file is a PDF file and never will be a magazine (which can be rolled into my pocket and pulled out anywhere, dog-eared, marked, shared, or clipped) it will be a computer. And just clicking to push the image of a new page on the screen, is all I want form my computer.
To me, the frilly animations are just wasting CPU power and in turn electricity. But, that's just my personal preference on it. The mass market often has other preferences. |

I agree. I used to subscribe to a paper IT weekly trade mag here for about 15 years, and they changed to online: but instead of nice clean HTML, it was one of those tricksy mock magazines with page turners: slow, hard to pan and zoom except on a big screen - and I cancelled my sub after a few weeks.
The art in these things is in not trying to needlessly reproduce features from one mediom to another. __________________ Lois Wakeman http://lois.co.uk http://communicationarts.co.uk http://i4info.blog.co.uk |

That’s not the half of it — the back arrow restores the page, so the only way out is to close that page altogether.
