PageMaker7.0 fails to create PDF
Still using PageMaker 7.0 under OS9 -Classic on a G4 and haven't had any problems creating PDFs for years.
Problem: 10-pg newsletter. Choose File -> Export -> Adobe PDF. Define Printer Styles Window opens, then the smaller "Getting number of stories" window. That's where it freezes. No "clock"; just the pointer on the screen. Force Quit, Restart, Open File, Save As to new name, try again - 10 times. No luck. Tried opening another newsletter file from same client and it works perfectly as always. Checked Printer Styles, and (current) is there as it should be. Checked Print Window and PPD is correct. Checked and re-checked the file, Select All to see if there's anything odd going on. Can't find anything. Deleted Adobe Acrobat and Distiller Pref files. Problem remains; can create PDF in other files. Editor waiting for PDF to edit and approve for printer. Thanks in advance for any help! Barbara The Drawing Room |
