A friend has invited me to talk with her using the “new Yahoo! Messenger.”

What is it? How does it work? What do I talk into? How listen — over my computer speakers? (Ugh.)

The invitation says the features apply to the Windows version of Yahoo! Messenger (meaning, I guess, not to the Mac version).

I feel like an idiot, but I don’t even have a cell phone, so there is a lot I do not know.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about this thing?
