Default Is my site better now?

Hi everyone. I've changed my site up a lot. I used jalbum.net to set up my photo gallery. Is it faster now? I think it's pretty annoying that the background "blinks" because it loads a little bit after the page opens...but it looks better on my end. Can someone check it out and let me know if it's any faster/better? Thanks for all your help! Zofia

Looks about right. Nice pictures.

I would have prefered to have the name Zofia Waig Photography in text and have the unique selling proposition (USP) clearly stated near the top of the first page.

The funny movement of the links at the bottom trouble me. Going to bold makes the text a diffent size. Either have a table to contain the link bar with more space, or have the links text just change colour a little.

Can't get back to the homepage once I leave it. Ah now I see it. The Home link is craftily hidden under the logo. Gosh.

I would always have my street address on the homepage.

It really looks good though.

Default Looks great!

It looks great! I don't see any background blinking effect, though.

I am not so sure I like the new, much bolder bar across the top, though, but the old peach color bars looked liked different colors on my LCD screen, even though the color specified was identical, so maybe a different color top bar is a good idea.

Hi Richard, thanks for the reply! Can you explain exactly what you mean by the above? What's a USP....? If you, or anyone else, could dumb it down for me, that would be great!

Thanks for the comment about the bold links, I'm changing that now.

My street address changes season to season, and I don't have a studio at home, but I guess it's probably a good idea to have the current one up there anyway. Thanks again! Z.

Thanks Dthomsen8, glad to hear that the blinking doesn't happen on everyone's computer. Maybe just on Safari...? Anyway, I'm still trying to get the background right. I like having a bar or a frame to make the rest of it not look like it's floating on a white screen. I'll work on that.

Thank you for all your help! Z.

Default Disguise the email address

I suspect that the background blinking is related to hardware ISP speed rather than the browser or operating system.

You need to disguise your email address, to avoid the SPAM email address harvesters filling up your mailbox. I know we had a thread in here recently about the techniques, but I can't seem to find it. Some staff person will tell us, though.

I have started an independent thread on table height specifications, which you have, so look for that, too. You should be using CSS and not HTML center for centering, too.

These comments are minor, you have made a big improvement.

Default Thank you guys!

Couldn't have done it without the help from this forum! I'm finally pleased, now my daughter gets to see what mommy looks like without a computer on her lap 24/7.

*** the name Zofia Waig Photography in text and have the unique selling proposition (USP) ***

If the name of the site is an image like yours the search engines will not read it. Sometimes you can get round this with the ALK= in the image statement, but bold text, or even <H1> text would be better.

The meaning of USP is in the text 'unique selling proposition'
