TakeOwnershipEx is a utility that can give you access to files or folders.

The distribution zip file contains 2 versions. The Window 8 version is the one I used for Windows 10.

There is a silent instructional movie at the utility's website.

I used this because the numerous menus I had to drill down through using File Explorer was confusing me.
