I had a chance to learn a bit more about version 7 of Reflect--I've been using version 6--installing it and doing some testing using my backup/testbed laptop.
Reflect 7 will format the rescue media thumbdrive if it's not already formatted as FAT32 but, if you happen to use a large thumbdrive (128GB) as I did when I was testing, Reflect 7 created a 32GB partition on the drive to hold the rescue media files and that was pretty annoying--I had to use Diskpart to get all of my drive space back. It doesn't do that for smaller drives--I tested again using an 8GB thumbdrive and Reflect just formatted all of it as FAT32. I'd still suggest using Diskpart to format the rescue media thumbdrive before starting to work with Reflect. I also don't particularly care for the changes Macrium made to the Reflect interface so I've decided to stick with Reflect 6 on my current desktop system and my sister's laptop systems. I've updated my Reflect notes PDF attaching the updated PDF below: Terrie Last edited by terrie; 08-01-2019 at 02:46 PM. |
