When you install it to the second (ie, licensed) device, disconnect the device from the internet. See if it complains. Maybe use it for a month or so, still disconnected, at least when using the software. If still no complaints, it's a reasonable bet that it's not calling home to check up on you. And in that case, it's probably possible to, shall we say, extend its reach to further devices. Not legally, of course. But that's between you and them. Don't tell us the results. Because "accessory after the fact" and stuff. ;-)

I'm not a fan of software piracy. That's why I write books about freeware alternatives to overpriced commercial software.


I brought this up because I couldn't find anything anywhere on the Corel web site that mentions how many devices a single licensed copy of WordPerfect can be installed on. I did finally find it in the product description on Amazon -- it says two devices. So I'll have to think carefully about what computer to install the second copy to -- or buy a second copy.
