Oh! How interesting...I didn't realize but my guess is it would depend on the underlying rationale of the fork creators. I know that PaleMoon was created out of the crap that was australis--vs. the crap that is quantum...'-}}--so real (in my opinion of course) add-ons/extensions still work...
