WordPress 3.0 (aka Thelonius) was released today. It includes many new features and sports a new default theme called Twenty Ten.
WordPress now has built-in menus, provision for different types of posts, and easily customizable site structures. WP MultiUser (MU) is now part of the basic software; it allows one to “run one blog or ten million from the same installation,” to quote from the intro. It has what the update team refers to as a lighter interface, contextual help on every admin screen, and “1,217 bug fixes and feature enhancements.” I have just begun to look at it, so cannot attest to any claims, but so far so good. The new default theme, like others before it, is fixed width, which I view as user-hostile. It is also very wide (landscape-ish). But older themes seem to work all right (guess that depends on how customized they have been, however) so no need to jump into the new default. __________________ :: [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] |
