Default Interesting PDF tools

According to developer Zoppa Software, PDF Studio lets you work interactively with PDFs — fill forms and flatten them if you want; type anywhere, even in a form that doesn’t have a fillable field, extract text to a text file, add hyperlinks, modify pages, search through text, add passwords, change permissions, and more.

Uses its own proprietary technology (no need to own Acrobat Pro or Reader, for example).

$60 for Linux, Mac, or Windows. Downloadable free evaluation software or the user manual.

The company also sells server-side software: PDF Automation Server and several Java tools for managing PDFs.
