Definitely an old vB habit here. I notice the flags because sometimes the new replies are scattered throughout the thread. If they actually worked they'd help me find new replies on other branches. But they don't because they disappear when I read the post I land on first.

I guess the workaround would be to open the reply window in a new tab.

I realized that if you use the back arrow in the browser (at least in FF) you get back to the Yellow flags.
