Default Warning to members

It appears the forum was hacked recently. It took us a while to figure out where and how, exactly, but we believe we have repaired the damage and upgraded the forum software. We have also improved security.

A couple of forum members reported that their anti-virus software had blocked Java-based malware. Some also reported damage to their profile images. Thanks to all of you for helping us identify and track this pest.

Our forum software was somewhat out of date; it is now current. According to security experts, we users should also keep up to date with software updates. Windows users should run anti-virus software and keep it up to date. Mac users should keep up with Apple’s OS and Java updates.

And please do let us know if you see anything odd here.

Thanks.

Additionally, it might be worth checking your browser's cookies file to see if there are cookies for the following sites--names are spaced out:

d 8 h o s t . n e t (and/or com)

3 r d c l i c k . n e t (and/or com)

If you see either of these, delete the cookies and I'd also suggest adding both to the cookies exception list setting the option to "block"...

Well, Bo seemed pretty unusual last time I saw him, though he'd probably say the same about me

Thanks for sorting out the forum, KT x

Neither of those are on my machine. I did find that it was forgetting me a couple times earlier this week, but I'll bet that was due to the upgrading.

It had forgotten me yesterday when I logged in. At least now I know why.
