woody: I just checked -- it still shows the upgrade price.
Most interesting...

No price displays on the main page when using either your original link or the edited link...

Had a thought...do you keep cache for the browser you used with the link?

woody: and I don't really have enough time to do a deep dive into properly learning how to deal with layers and such.
For myself, I've found that working on a real project (vs. say...a class exercise devised by someone else) is the way to begin the learning process and, I have found that I remember what I learned when doing the real project in a way that I don't with "class" projects...

So...just start using it...learning as you go...

That has certainly worked for me, but with Photoshop it did not. After two years of spinning my wheels I couldn't even make a decent brightness adjustment. That was back when the Brightness tool was linear. But then I stumbled onto a levels demo that showed me how to better adjust brightness and correct color. Well, most of the time. Finally I plunked down my money and bought a series of Photoshop lessons (on VHS). Interestingly, it didn't teach how to make a great photo. It taught all the tools, though. This was incredibly valuable because I knew what was at my disposal.

Not even remotely suitable for the kind of editing I sometimes need to do. Those will adjust color balance and contrast, but there are times when I need to pull an object out of one photo and graft it into another.

Any tool that supports layers should be able to do that. And in theory, and program that allows you to remove the background (some cheap ones do this) and add a new background based on a photo you provide. But you would also have to be able to size, tilt, etc both. And I doubt they can do this..
