Default New Gmail Feature

I think this is cool, but it only just popped up in Gmail today so it hasn't been there long enough for me to decide. It's a Tasks list, and it may be the perfect "To-Do" list solution for me. I have tried using UK Kalendar for a To-Do list with little success because I prefer to keep the Kalendar view on Monthly and almost never look at the To-Do tab. I've been using Kalendar's alarm/reminder feature to remind me of tasks that I've entered directly on the calendar page, but it's become an annoying nag. (I tried making myself a reminder to open and look at the To-Do list and that didn't work well at all.) I would prefer to be reminded only of appointments, and have a separate list for tasks. I tried using the little Post-It note app for the same purpose but after awhile my computer desktop got as cluttered as my actual desktop and its alarm feature became a nag as well. Ugh!

The beauty of the Tasks list in Gmail is its location. I check the Gmail window frequently, so it's right there without my having to open another browser tab or another computer application. I can have it popped up in the lower corner of the gmail window so it's in my view but not in my way. There is also the option to pop it out into a separate window but for me that would make it less useful. I can close it if I'm done with the list for the day, although I think for now I will leave it in view. It's very much like an old-fashioned paper To-Do list, only the cats can't dump it off my desk and it can't get buried under other stuff.

I don't have any trips planned at the moment, but since it's a part of Gmail my Tasks list will be available from any internet-connected computer.
