disguising your email

Forgive me if this has been recently covered, I searched it and nothing came up. I understand that if your email address is on your site, it can be swiped up by spammers that fill your inbox with junk. So far, knock on wood, I don't have this problem, but I don't ever want to either.

Is it enough to create a "mailto:" link saying "email me" and being linked to the actual email, or do you have to go further to disguise your email?

This site says not to, http://www.samisite.com/test-csb2nf/id129.htm. But the encryption code they use still shows up as "mailto:myaddress.com" at the bottom grey bar on my screen. Plus, the code spelled info "iinfo", so it kinda sucks anyway.

But what about people, like me, who don't use Apple Mail or Outlook Express to send their email and need to see the address to copy and paste it to their mail? Do they miss out on being able to email you if they can't see your address?
