Default The New (part of) Me

Since this seems to be a place where medical stories are tolerated....

I had a total hip replacement last Thursday (March 2.) I've been gimpy for years and finally wore thing out to the point there was no cartilege in my right hip socket.

I am now allowed to put 50 percent weight on my new joint, and learning to live with some limitations about bending, etc. I am back to producing some commercial ad copy etc. in InDesign, have downloaded the latest Blatner/Concepcion InDesignSecrets podcasts, and have also acquired some delightful old John Ciardi NPR podcasts -- along, of course, with Ricky Gervais/Karl Pilkington podcasts.

Unfortunately I'm not yet at home (with DSL) and am limited to painfully slow dialup.

Commiserations not needed but war stories welcomed.
