Default Naming things

I've never been one for naming my car or other inanimate objects, but have patiently named my Apple hard drives over the years, using a naming convention based on Banjo Paterson's verse. That made it a bit easier.

All of a sudden I find myself faced with the necessity to name mice and keyboards! Now, I think this is going a bit overboard, besides stretching the imagination.

Anyway, having been put on the spot by Apple's installation program, I am now using a mouse called Slug, and a keyboard called Fingers. How pedestrian...

What do you do when forced to name something that should just 'be'?
