Default Microsoft Store Apps Fail

I have a few Microsoft Store apps tiles my start gizmo. Several days ago some them went dim, and refused to launch. No big deal, I never used them anyway. I was keeping them there just-in-case. But, I decided to fix this and updated drivers for the connectivity ability of Windows. One stopped being dim, and I figured I'd try more later.

Next, they just simply disappeared. I tried to launch calculator with a shortcut I have and it was dead. So I went searching on the Internet and saw the usual trouble-shooting steps, which I don't feel like doing.

And here's the thing: why would I want to software that depend on connectivity to Microsoft. Other than Windows, which I'm sort of stuck with.

I've asked myself the same sort of question which is why I have never--and plan on never, ever--getting Windows 10...

On the surface Windows 10 is quite good, but it comes with a big helping of annoyance. Which usually sets in right after you feel like you have got used to it.

You don't have to be stuck with Windows though. I am now free from it and wearing a different hat (it is a Fedora...)!

First...my Linux knowledge is pretty small so, in simple terms, why did you choose Fedora over say, Mint or Ubuntu (I see what you did there, Steve...'-}}) or other flavors?
