Sorry to have been remiss in not responding. I should have been clearer that I only wanted this image for the book cover, not as a default layout for the interior book body. Since I (a) don't have Photoshop, and (b) find myself totally baffeled by GIMP -- I went the brute force method: Microsoft Paint.

I found a free image of an old, slightly discolored parchment that's about the right aspect ratio. Opened it in Paint, and used the text function to type in the text I wanted.

The result isn't spectacular, but I showed it to several people and they pronounced it good to go -- so I went. The book is now up on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
