Default OL USERS: I need help making up my mind on something.

Hello folks.. LONG TIME NO SEE!
I was a member on this forum a year or two ago and totally lost the link to the website and my login name must of gotten dropped due to inactivity, so I had to re sign up.

Anyways I am now using Outlook 2016! I love it so far... But I cant make up my mind on using IMAP or POP... I am using IMAP right now, but in the back of my mind the whole privacy bit keeps coming to my mind.

" The emails are downloaded to my computer thus making things a bit more private than having them stored on my domain's IMAP sever ( fastmail ).

Grand it, I never plan nor intend on breaking the law and having to have the government break into my email account. lol

I just don't know I've been going back and forth... Yes, I have a smart phone. But all I use email for on my phone is to email stuff to the computer ( my domain address) so I can read it later or whatever.

I've been a POP3 user for years.... And OL 2016 just automatically set my domain up as IMAP. ( gee thanks for letting me decide OL 2016) I found out later you have to hit ADVANCED instead of hitting next after punching in your email address to change your option to pop3. WHOOPS!

Is OL 2016 a bit better with not getting corrupted PST's? I leave OL running day and night so things can be downloaded and folderized where it should go while I sleep and I can get up the next day and sit down and go folder by folder checking everything thats been downloaded.

Haaaaaaaaaaaalp!

Thanks
Chris
