Default UK-speak help please...'-}}

What does "Geordi" mean--it has something to do with people from Yorkshire as far as I can determine (I think I've spelled it correctly)?

I know "A-levels" have something to do with school, but could someone explain the particulars?

Yes...I probably could look both up in Wikipedia or do a browser search but it's more fun to ask here...'-}}
