I'm using Quark 8.1. I've have had a couple of Word documents sent to me that have a lot of tracked changes in them. I can't import the file without getting both the 'hidden' text and the text meant to be there. Is this a setting in Quark I need to adjust or does the Word file have to be saved a certain way or with certain settings disabled. I read somewhere you can import into Quark with Tracked Changes Disabled in Quark's settings but I can't figure how to enable that option.
Thanks J Edit: I've found out that if I Accept All Changes in Word (in the Reviewing toolbar) then it becomes a 'normal' doc. I guess this is the way to do it, unless anyone knows of a better way. Last edited by thripston; 07-29-2014 at 03:13 AM. |

I've never used Quark but did a quick browser search (quark tracked changes option) and found "Clearing Word's Track Changes..." which is geared to InDesign but checked the comments because there are Quark ref's and suggestions which may be helpful...
Also see "Importing text with..." which may also be useful Terrie |

![]() I can't help with suggestions on doing it on the Quark side, because I swapped to InDesign when it first came out. __________________ ![]() |

Thanks.
I did find both of those but one didn't explain how to access the settings in Quark. And the other had Indesign instructions (though I didn't check the comments). Looks like the fix I did is as good as any. |

From reading while researching this, using "Accept All Changes" in Word does seem to be what most people do--I'd missed your later edit...'-}} Terrie |
