In a previous post I have complained about having too many fonts -- so now I'm after more.
The company that sells that 7,500 font collection I bought offers a free font every month. Most have been fonts I could never EVER see myself using, so I haven't bothered to download them. This month's font is different. It's clean, it's geometric, and I could easily see myself using it for something. It's offered for download as a TrueType font and as an OpenType font. If I work mostly in Word (or LibreOffice or SoftMaker Office), does it make any difference which one I download? Should I download both? https://www.freefont.de/index_en.htm Thanks. |

Download both and look to see if you are getting more character's in the OT font.

OTF fonts can include either TrueType or PostScript character definitions. This particular OTF includes PostScript definitions.
This means that it won't work with MS Office products (I get the impression that this wouldn't be a deal-breaker for you). But make sure that it'd work with your other apps. As Andrew says, why not d/l both and see which works best? __________________ Steve Rindsberg ==================== www.pptfaq.com www.pptools.com and stuff |

I'm going to simplify my answer. Download both so you will have both in case you run into situation where you need a choice.

Better yet, I rather like it. I might use it as the title font for a book I'm trying to finalize. |

And they've done it again. SoftMaker's free font of the month for November is a font that's included in the font collection I purchased two or three years ago. But on the free font site, they offer a choice of TrueType or OpenType. The collection only has the TrueType version, so I downloaded the OpenType version to fill out the collection.
