Over on Typophile there is a somewhat meandering discussion of the strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures, and possible future of the OpenType font format.
The comments also include exursions into the more or less late lamented multiple master technology, the role of the type industry (foundries, designers, users) vis a vis the OS/app industry (Microsoft, Apple, Adobe), and much much more. Very interesting for those who are very interested in the subject. __________________ :: [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] |
