JamieHow, this job was quite a few years ago. I don't think I ever explained the outcome though. Basically, the guy I was working for was pretty sleazy--the worst client I ever had, in fact. He accepted my first logo without even consulting with the client in need of the logo, then came back and said I need to make a new one. I originally gave him an estimate of $50 (I know, far too low) and ended up going $60. He refused to pay $60, insisting that I stick with my original estimate, and after a few months of no payment I emailed him only to receive no apology or excuse. He simply said "You're on the top of our list as far as things things to pay." (I'm a "thing" to pay?). I kept trying to call him to no avail and finally went to his house and talked to his wife. I got a check shortly after that.

I think ultimately the business disregarded the whole idea and kept their crappy logo, hence my client's bitterness and refusal to pay. What an unprofessional jerk.
