Default Membrane keypads

The new Apricorn Aegis Fortress L3 portable storage drive, which touts improved construction and encryption, uses a membrane touch pad for input of the password.

Now, this is not a situation where you need to touch type. But still, my experience with membrane touch controls has not been good. Or maybe this kind of technology is much improved?
