Has the 3rd edition of the OED been published then? I thought that only the new edition of the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary had been published.

Lush is hardly new, it goes back to Middle English as an adjective meaning fertile, thriving, opulent. More recently, as a noun, it is slang for an alcoholic.
