Default AOL CD in our Sunday paper

I have not seen these once-common things in years, but the October 9 edition of the Connecticut Post contained an AOL CD boldly marked 1175 hours free! for 50 days. For those who don’t want to do the math, that is 23.5 hours/day.

It is also marked No Credit Card Required! Not sure what is required (because I didn’t open the CD) but it says you must opt out before the month expires or be billed, so they must require some sort of fiscal access (one shudders to think!).

Also includes a $30/month dsl deal for those in areas covered by Covad. Have to commit for a year (and if you cancel or you are canceled for any reason, will have to pay up to $150 penalty). Also have to pay $20 for the dsl box.

Gee, maybe I should go for it! You think?
