I'm thinking about a cover image for a book I'm editing. I need to create a sort of old-appearing copy of a text document that I can manipulate in order to emphasize one paragraph on the page (which relates to the topic discussed in the book). I have transcribed the text into a Word document, and I can pretty much get the emphasis I want by setting everything except the paragraph I want to a 40% grey text color, increasing the font size slightly, and setting the side margins for that paragraph to a smaller margin.
So far, so good. I would ideally like to be able to replicate a slightly discolored and possibly frayed edge to the page, to make it look old without even having to read any of the text in the image. I can't think of any way to do that. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful. |
