I was having the problem again but forgot what I did late time. But this time:

Win 10 command prompt: ipconfig /flushdns
Observe the space after ipconfig
I did't need reboot

Useful thing to remember, Andrew. Thanks.

Now if only I could remember stuff like this.
I could write it down, I guess.
But then I'd forget that I'd written it down, or if I remembered that, WHERE I wrote it down.

That's why I use a combo approach....'-}}

Make a note in CintaNotes with memorable keyword(s) in the note title (and the body text of the note also)--so I'd probably use "slow dns" or "slow response"--CintaNotes has a search function so I don't have to scroll through all of my CintaNote notes...

Sometimes these little reminders gather themselves in groups (and hang around street corners making mischief) and so I copy/paste the CintaNote note(s) into one document do a little bit of editing and maybe fancying up with bolding and italicizing titles in WordPerfect, make a pdf and then make a desktop shortcut of the PDF. I have desktop shortcutted PDFs for my Win7 setup notes, for my Macrium Reflect usage notes--both written up originally in WordPerfect--along with PDF'd CintaNotes...'-}}

Either the CintaNote notes or the desktop PDF notes are much easier to find than having to scroll through the text data partition, folders and subfolders trying to remember what the hell I named the file...'-}}

The CintaNotes really is the key for me. It basically replaced the WinCim filing cabinets. I don't know what I'd do without it...'-}}

I use an old but incredibly capable program called Ecco for this kind of thing.

Combination outliner and PIM.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecco_Pro
Goes back to Win 3 days, but once a user updated the installer from 16 to 32-bit, it works fine even under Win10/64-bit.

For searching for stuff on the PC or network I use Agent Ransack (free).

I remembered that and that's why I was wondering if you'd found a different search tool. I have downloaded AR but never gotten around to installing it...'-]}
