XML/XHTML-to-PDF converter
The magic tool used by Bos & Lie to produce their book was Prince, software that converts XML (including XHTML) into PDFs, using CSS style sheets to guide the formatting. Besides book production this sounds like a good way to get web content onto paper without a lot of fooling around (assuming it is as slick as described).
It costs $350 for a single-user license (less for academic use), but you can download a trial version that runs normally but generates a promotional mark on the first page of the PDF.
