Default Bible typeface family

As you probably know, Bibles are printed on very thin paper and with more text per page than most books. So it needs to be very readable. Bible typeface family the name of a typeface designed by 2K Typographic Design. But interestingly I can find no place to buy it

The design house also designed a proprietary typeface for two Bible publishing houses. This font is called "Comfort Print". I don't know if this variation of Bible Typeface or something else, and right now my eyes are too tired to do a side-by-side.

I also found an article about the genesis of Comfort Print.

All this research came about because I was looking at a Bible printed in New Beryl Type at a size so small I should not be able to read it, but I can. I also noticed certain characteristics of the font and tried to search for info several different ways. I found nothing about Beryl Type, but ended up with what you see above.

Under the 2K Typographic Design website "Company" link there is a "Contact" option and since the page is in English, my guess would be that they have someone on staff who would respond in English so maybe you could ask about purchasing the font?

I think New Beryl Type might be metal type because all the ref's I found (search on ["New Beryl type" font] no brackets but yes to quotes) are for old bibles (see: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Oxford-Text...-/262964206231 )...

Very interesting. I ran your search and realized I was not able to find it because I was using Bing. I just tried with Google and found four for sale at Amazon, ranging in price from $19.95 to $424.95. I think the one my father bought me 10 years ago was $5.95.

Still, no articles about New Beryl. As you point out it never got past lead type, and so why write an article about it.

andrew: I just tried with Google
I have been using duckduckgo.com for searching most of the time but every once in a while I'll also try Google if ddg doesn't seem to come up with useful results which it didn't with looking for info on New Beryl Type and Google returned limited but actually on-point results.

From looking at the results, try searching (use google) on ["new beryl type"]--no brackets but yes on quotes--which returns what looks to be a number of pertinent links. I think the font name includes the word "type" because using just "new beryl" returns nothing pertinent.

Glad you found some prospects...

I had to chuckle ... followed the link to Comfort Print, found a video that extolled its virtues and toward the end, the narrator said " ... easy to read at any size." While the video was showing a young guy using a printer's loupe on a copy of the book.

Bad choice of scene, that.
