It's a Brother HL-L2305W and it's small, Wi-Fi and therefore wireless, obedient and willing, and quick to respond. It's single sided, but given that I print so little of anything any more, I don't care about that.
It cost me a whopping AUD118.00 and it will talk to anything here that wants to send it something to print, including my old Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner which is using very old printer drivers and keeps telling me that the whole system is about to blow up and nuke my house and neighbourhood. Fortunately ignoring those lies resolves everything. The Mac owns the printer drivers, so it does the same, but once again, I don't care. So right now, my Mac, The Epson scanner and the Brother printer obey the printer driver in the printer and we're all happy. Especially me, because there are no cables coiling all round the room any more. The Epson and Mac still talk to each other with a cable, but they're side by side and have been good mates for a loooong time. And one of the best things? The company that sold me the Brother printer took my old LaserJet away for recycling. With a smile. __________________ ![]() |
