Simple cameras

When I was young (and all the way up into my forties) the cheap and simple cameras were so easy. All I did was point and shoot. I could shoot indoors, outdoors, flash, no flash, two zoom levels, and almost all photos were good enough for the family album. And eventually scan and share with friends.

Later I got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC20 as I gift. What a pain in the neck. Most of my photos were not good enough to go into an album, plus it was a chore to take them. Before that I had a something something digital elph. I got exactly zero decent photos from it.

And now I have a smart phone. Easier to us than the Lumix and Elph, but I have to set up ideal lighting to get anything decent, and the auto-focus is hit or miss. And the resolution is awful.

Is there such a thing as an easy-to-use digital camera. Or maybe it's me. Maybe I'm just another boomer who can't use a modern camera.
