franca: Late to the party as always.... I have been SO LATE all this holiday season! Yesterday, I finally opened a gift I had received in the mail--3 weeks ago! I have no idea why I have been so slow off the mark for the holidays...

I hope you guys had a lovely solstice/hanukkah/christmas/etc. ....'-}}

I've attached a card I did using a shot one of my sisters (the one in ME) took of a Christmas tree in a shop window. We decided it was a "Celebrate Everything Tree"...'-}}

Alas, one of the reasons that we were so un-Christmas-y this year was that we had to say goodbye to one of our kitties two days before Christmas. My heart is still aching. Of our two kitties, Cindy had the stronger personality and was therefore the one that spent most of the time with me or on me. Max is slowly adjusting to being the only cat, but since her sister was the Spokescat, and the one that monitored the household for 13th Dimensional Gremlins, it's a heavy burden. We're all still adjusting. :(

Totally sucks the joy out of the holiday season, doesn't it? Sorry to hear it, Franca.

Thanks, Terrie. Yeah, I miss them all, but this was especially hard because she was only eight and we expected her to be around at least another eight years. :(

Thanks, Steve. It really does suck the joy out. I've been sitting by the tree at night with Max the last couple of nights for awhile. I'm glad we still have the tree up because I feel a bit cheated on Christmas. Sigh.

Y'know, it used to bother me that losing a pet cat affected more than losing a relative, but I realized that when you lose a companion (human or not) that you're with every day, sometimes for hours and hours of the day, it IS a more immediate loss than losing someone you might only see at holidays, if that. Heck, I still miss a cat we had almost 50 years ago, to say nothing of all the ones since.

I went through the same sort of thinking and came to the same conclusion. So we are either correct or totally delusional--I leave it to you to decide...'-}}

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Cindy, Franca. Caddie has been gone for almost 11 years, but I still catch a glimpse of her out of the corner of my eye occasionally.
