Anyone lamenting the lack of fancy borders in their fav DTP / graphix app should head over to WWW.graphictype.co.uk (http://www.graphictype.co.uk)

You get a free download of a nice little app which allows you to create not only borders, but also suface pattern designs and corner peices too.

I had my copy on floppy disc for over 10 years now and used it since Win 3.1!!! Works in Win XP and even InDesign CS" and Illustrator CS2 as well as PM and CorelDraw. Check it out....

Not often you get useful software for free....

Yes it is pretty cool. You have to purchase one of their fonts to really get the best out of it though. I have the whole font collection. They came in both TT and Type 1 formats.

I have a few decorative border fonts with some of the P22 fonts I've purchased and figured I might use those but if they didn't work well, as I remember GT's pricing on their fonts wasn't too bad...

terrie,

bear in mind that the Graphictype gonts are special ornamental fonts. Think of them as la-de-dah dinbats. Unlike dingbats and other fonts, the GT fonts are 100% proportional meaning that each character fills a square exactly.

Also the fonts come with GTI or graphic type information files. These files allows the application to create quite complex designs by automaticlly calculating font size, lesding, adjacent characters and corner rotation.

GT Designer does come with a sample TT font for you to play around with....

Have a look to see if you have a copy; if so, take a look at the ornaments. They make great borders.
