View Full Version : Craig's List

I am about to try Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org) to sell some furniture and lamps. I have been discussing some of the items on eBay (http://www.ebay.com) about value. It is interesting that Craigslist is now 25% owned by eBay, but it is able to support itself on paid job listings and apartments in NYC.

Beyond being far less complex than eBay, Craigslist is also easier for me because I can avoid packing and shipping. In the case of an iron bridge lamp, that could be a lot of weight, and trouble.

Yes, I know we discussed Craigslist a year ago, but it seemed foolish to add to such an old thread now.

Nice lamp. (I know nothing about Craig’s List but what I read. But it does make sense to look for a local buyer for something that heavy and hard to pack.

Very cool lamp! Do let me know how craigslist works for you...

I recently joined the local freecycle (http://www.freecycle.org/) group and I was pretty impressed as the large red oak board I wanted to give away was picked up the next day...

Craig's List is big here in the Front Range. It has basically killed the newspaper classifieds. There is also Google Base, which is new and not as popular, but might be worth a try (it is also free).
