View Full Version : OpenType format critique

Over on Typophile there is a somewhat meandering discussion of the strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures, and possible future of the OpenType font format (http://typophile.com/node/16838?).

The comments also include exursions into the more or less late lamented multiple master technology, the role of the type industry (foundries, designers, users) vis a vis the OS/app industry (Microsoft, Apple, Adobe), and much much more.

Very interesting for those who are very interested in the subject.

'Very interesting'

It is. A pity though that Typophile hasn't seen some of the comments on not-very-black on grey. Thomas Ph. made some typically down-to-earth comments.
