According to an announcement on the web site for SOTA (http://www.typecon.com/) (Society of Typographic Aficionados), its 2006 meeting will be held in Boston August 9–13 at the Hyatt Regency. The conference, billed as “The Boston T Party,” is being put on in partnership with The Museum of Printing.

This meeting, which began as a small “con” in Massachusetts about a decade ago, has become a thriving program of type-focused workshops, presentations, panel discussions, and other events, surrounded by opportunities to meet and talk with type designers and others in this tiny industry.

As such things go, it is affordable (especially for SOTA members), and those who go always seem to have a good time.

I don't have any details to share yet (of what can be disclosed officially), but I think you might enjoy the upcoming TypeCon. Have you subscribed to the TypeCon email newsletter?
